MiniVid Planning TBC

For our mini vid we didn't do much planning however the planning we did do consisted of the Location, Props used (minor props), Casting and Lip Syncing

Location:
For the location we had only 1 location but 2 settings within that 1 location which were the gym and the swimming pool at the location of Ilkley Grammar School. These were set out from the moment we agreed to shoot this video by the main producer which was Tilly Dennis and she told us that the best settings for the shoot would be the school grounds and it was my idea to use the pool and the gym.

Props Used:
The Props used in the shoot were the pirate eye patches due to it being pirate themed and also hooks also we used canoes when filming in the pool to signify the ships at sea. Also when we were in the gym we used the roped and the set of mats to signify the characters being at sea on a pirate ship "hoisting" the sails on the ship.

Casting:
The Cast that we used for the shoot were Myself, Curtis Tiplady, Tilly Dennis, Kate Harding and Dom Ellis and we also gained Lucy Oldham and Abi Birch who were in it but played an insignificant role in the production of the music video.

This is the song that i have selected to pitch for the mini vid in class and i have done a presentation on this and why i feel that this song should be performed and created.

And this is my pitch feedback video.....

Mini-Vid Jolly Roger Editing in Final Cut Pro X

For the Mini vid we shot the film in the gym and the swimming pool at school and this was a relatively good idea which was produced by the leading member of our team Tilly, Her idea for the song which was Jolly Roger by Adam Ant was based on the cast being in a sort of at sea scene where by we used what we could to be pirrates on the seas when in the pool and in the gym using the facilites which were availibe to us, However we did come across a few hicups these were soon delt with as we found various ways to avoid them such as having to get the canoes out in the swimming pool to act as pirate ships and to get the crash mat out in the gym to act as the sea.

This shot was where we used the mats as a form of ship like prop and we used the ropes again to signify the boat like features

This shot was done in the swimming pool and this was to signify the jolly part of the song with the jolly roger part in mind

A close up  shot here to show the lip syncing was key when editing the mini vid as it works well, but only when you sing the correct words

This shot has had a black and white effect used on it so that it makes it stand out and appeal to more audiences and to other varieties of people.

This shot is used to signify the water in the jolly roger music video and has also had an added effect on it to enhance the picture being displayed on screen which makes it look better

This shot also has had an added effect but also signifies the term jolly roger as the pirates in this shot are happy when singing along to the track

My Pitch Choice

The song i chose to do a pitch on was the song Wasteland by The Mission, i chose this track because it sounded okay compared to the rest of the other tracks, Also when i listened to it, there was more of an image in my head rather than any of the other songs.

I chose Wasteland by The Mission because it was a song which when i heard it was the most imaginative as it made me think and i got a lot of ideas to use for the video as it created a good image in my head at the time when i was listening to it for the first time.

However looking at the range of song that i have to choose from i feel that this was the only song which did this for me due to the genre not being of a great interest to me.

The Mini-Vid Task

The mini-vid task was a task which was created to develop our knowledge and understanding of how music video's work when creating them, We did this by getting allocated each with a different genre of music, the one i got was the GOTH genre which i didnt really know much about until i researched into some of the songs which i was given to pitch on. After the pitches we as a class got our heads together and decided which would be the best two groups suited to each vid however only two music video's were picked. The group and the song that i went with was the son Jolly Roger by Adam and the Ants which was pitched by Tilly
